Chair Haydn Willetts announced this week the appointment of Phil Goodman to the role of CEO at the Association. The new CEO assumes the role with immediate effect and is already working closely with the Association’s Board and Executive team, taking over from Carey Trevill who announced earlier this year she was stepping down.

Willetts commented, ‘We believe in Phil we have secured the services of an industry professional with the capabilities to drive our Association and industry forward. Phil brings to the role many years of experience from managing and running successful full-service marketing agencies and several other businesses. Over the coming weeks and months, Phil will present and outline his vision for the future of the Association in the short, medium, and long term.

On behalf of the BPMA Board and the wider membership, I would like to thank Carey Trevill who has guided and led the BPMA through the challenging times of the last four years. She has professionalised the way of working for the BPMA to its members and the wider marketing disciplines we operate in. She leaves the Association with far stronger foundations and a clearer strategic direction for our new CEO to build up on with the rest of the secretariat that are in place.’

Phil’s business background in marketing and running several successful businesses brings a wealth of experience and knowledge into the BPMA, which will benefit both the running of the Association and its members. Phil joins the Association at a time when the industry is growing, and he will be championing sustainability across the industry, building on the work the BPMA has done in recent years.

‘I am extremely proud to be joining the BPMA as CEO’ said Goodman. ‘It is an interesting time for our industry as we continue to make progress in areas such as sustainability and compliance. This challenge really appeals to me and I look forward to working with the Board to continue to improve standards, and increase the profile of the BPMA, both in our industry and beyond. I look forward to meeting the members in due course, and would like to express my thanks to Carey for her help during our handover.’ Goodman joins the established team at the BPMA working alongside Membership Director Tom Robey and Operations & Events Manager Georgie Yeats. The team has grown in the last few months with the addition of Sustainability & Compliance Manager Jenny Dawes, Kian Clews Braddon as Membership Executive and recent addition Nate Bragg as Marketing Executive.
