The British clothing distributor PenCarrie has acquired The Outdoors Company, thereby strengthening its offering for the corporate textiles market. Promotional products retailers and textile finishers stand to benefit from expanded access to premium outdoor brands and integrated finishing solutions.

The Outdoors Company was founded in 2007 and supplies more than 700 customers in the UK and Europe. Its portfolio includes brands such as The North Face, Columbia, Rab, Patagonia and Helly Hansen. With its own embroidery and printing services, the company combines high-quality outdoor and lifestyle clothing with bespoke branding solutions – an offering that makes it easier for retailers to deliver customised textile projects.

The Outdoors Company will continue to operate under its own name at its existing Cheshire site and will continue to be managed by directors Mark Dix and Paul Morley-Smith alongside the existing team. Contact details and services remain unchanged.

PenCarrie sees growth potential for both companies in the acquisition and aims to drive expansion in the UK and Europe by combining their industry expertise. The family-run wholesaler of unprinted clothing and accessories stocks more than 3,700 items from 75 brands. The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. www.pencarrie.com • www.theoutdoorscompany.co.uk
