There was reason to celebrate at elasto. On 5 May, the renowned promotional products manufacturer and supplier from Sulzbach-Rosenberg officially inaugurated its new logistics and production centre at the company’s headquarters after 17 months of construction. The new hall with a floor area of 5,400 square metres includes a partially automated high-bay warehouse for around 5,500 pallet spaces as well as an automated small parts warehouse with conveyor technology and a capacity of around 7,000 additional spaces.
“With the new logistics centre, we are not only strengthening our competitiveness, but also securing production and the associated jobs at our home location, which I am particularly pleased about,” says Managing Director Markus Sperber, who runs the company in the 2nd generation with his brother Frank Sperber. Around 450 guests accepted the invitation to the inauguration ceremony, including numerous employees, customers and representatives from business and politics.
As an inauguration gift, the guests had collected money for an “inauguration tree” to symbolically hand it over to the management. The tree is now to be planted on the elasto site and given a place of honour.
After the official part, the guests had the opportunity to visit the production facilities on individual tours and gain an insight into the work processes. Different products and processes were also shown. Regional specialities provided for the physical well-being. The celebration was rounded off with atmospheric songs by the band Aeroplane.
The next day, elasto organised an “Open Day” with many different guided tours of the factory, which was attended by more than 1,200 interested visitors. (We report in detail in the July issue of the PSI Journal.) www.elasto.de
