How companies create safe spaces for everyone

Even though much has been achieved for the queer community in recent years: Experienced and feared discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity are still issues. This is particularly true in the world of work and also affects the promotional products industry.

In Germany, the General Equal Treatment Act is intended to explicitly protect employees from discrimination. Among other things, employers are obliged to take preventive measures and initiate immediate action in the event of discrimination.

One possibility is the creation of safe spaces. They provide an environment where queer employees are free from prejudice, discrimination and harassment. Here, employees can freely express their sexual orientation and gender identity without fear of negative consequences.

Graduate psychologist Andrea Lauber explains how companies can support queer individuals so that they can develop their full potential.
