“Underground Stations” the recipient of the calendar prize of the german book trade

Every year, since 2017, the interest group focused on calendars within the German Publishers and Booksellers Association hands out the Calendar Prize of the German Book Trade at the Frankfurt Book Fair. The distinction is awarded to commercial calendars submitted at their own discretion by publishers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The ten top calendars for 2024 have been distinguished this year as well. The Athesia Kalenderverlag, also a member of the PSI Network, was able to convince the jury, once again, with a new publication which propelled the photo calendar “Underground Stations” from Weingarten onto the top list.

The statement: “Sometimes, the most beautiful things lie deeply hidden, as this calendar very impressively demonstrates. Outstanding photographs, some of them from refreshingly differ perspectives, coupled with a simple date calendar make it something very special.” The large wall calendar “Underground Stations” from Weingarten, published by the Athesia Kalenderverlag, depicts hidden architectural gems from the underground. Special underground train stations, from ultra-modern to opulently decorated, are shown from a new perspective, casting the spotlight onto masterpieces of metro architecture.
