RASTAL, an internationally renowned provider in the field of glass design from Höhr Grenzhausen/Germany, is the recipient of a further significant prize: the Largo cup design, which was developed exclusively in partnership with Fachingen Heil- und Mineralbrunnen GmbH, is the object of the GOOD DESIGN Award, one of the oldest and most prestigious design prizes worldwide.
With its design for drinking glasses, RASTAL stood out from more than 1,100 entries from more than 55 countries in the “Table Top” category. The GOOD DESIGN Award, handed over by the Chicago Athenaeum, a museum of architecture and design, and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, is held to be the benchmark for outstanding design, prominently positioning the award winners as leading companies in their respective industries.
The Largo cup design was developed in the RASTAL Design Studio, and won over the jury with its versatility and functionality. Besides being perfectly suited to today’s gastronomy sector, the cup can be used as a universal glass for the widest variety of purposes. Its clean, modern lines and stability afforded by a solid base make it the ideal choice for professional use. In addition, its fine rim and trim form mean that it is a pleasure to hold. Custom design possibilities are enabled by a large decorative surface. In addition to functional glass design, RASTAL offers a broad range of finishing options, from classic screen printing through to innovative digital printing methods and relief embossing.
The word from the company is that the distinction is confirmation of its decades-long affinity for design, quality and innovation. www.rastal.com
