Supporting a fundraising campaign for a glimmer of hope

SPRINTIS, the Würzburg-based wholesale company for printing and promotional product supplies and logistics warehouse labelling and shipping, is continuing its social commitment in 2024 and supporting the Lions Club Kitzing with its fundraising campaign ‘Brillen ohne Grenzen’ (Glasses Without Borders). Since 2010, the volunteer association has collected used glasses, which retired opticians and ophthalmologists check before they are donated. The glasses are then donated to developing countries to give people in need a glimmer of hope.

Although relatively good glasses are often thrown away in Germany, visual aids are considered a luxury item in other countries. In poor regions, glasses often cost as much as a month’s wage. This campaign was launched to give children and adults in these regions access to glasses.  The goal of the donation project is to provide people in need who cannot access optical care and only have simple forms of visual aids with the glasses they urgently need.
SPRINTIS, of course, also offers logistical support with the campaign and pays for the transport costs so that the glasses arrive safely in poverty-stricken areas and where people in crisis are once they have prepared for donation by professionals. Last year, 6,000 glasses were sent to those in need as part of the ‘Glasses Without Borders’ campaign in France and this figure will be achieved again in 2024. In addition to the social aspect, SPRINTIS and the Lions Club Kitzingen are contributing to environmental protection and conservation of valuable resources. According to the company, SPRINTIS ‘is proud to be part of this important initiative and looks forward to helping even more people in need together with the Lions Club Kitzingen in order to give them more glimmers of hope. www.sprintis.de
