“With pride and a vision” the company, which has been synonymous with high-quality calendars and notebooks for decades, is entering a new era. The previous name Lediberg by LINDOCASTELLI will become CASTELLI 1938 GmbH in the future. This is a step that unites the company’s long history, Italian craftsmanship and innovative future.

The headquarters in Bergamo, founded in 1964 by Lindo Castelli, is the centrepiece of a globally active family business. Since 2022, the company has once again been managed by Maurizio Castelli, the founder’s son. With over 300 employees in Bergamo and branches in ten countries, the company remains true to its tradition of dedication to detail, quality and creativity.

Paper as a powerful means of communication

The CASTELLI MILANO 1938 brand interprets paper as a powerful means of communication and a link between substance and ideas. In a world increasingly characterised by artificial intelligence, the company sees paper as an indispensable tool for developing thoughts and expressing oneself personally. “It is this creative force that forms the core of the CASTELLI MILANO 1938 brand and accompanies it on its path to an innovative future,” says Maurizio Castelli.

Highly modern production technology

In recent years, Maurizio Castelli has made significant investments in digital production technologies in order to combine the high level of Italian creativity with state-of-the-art technology. At the same time, the company remains committed to developing products that are both innovative and environmentally friendly. The use of sustainable raw materials and resource-saving manufacturing processes are key elements of the company’s strategy.

Sustainability as an approach

Maurizio Castelli was already a pioneer in the industry in 2015. The company launched innovative products made from apple scraps, the APPEEL products, which demonstrated its commitment to environmentally friendly materials and sustainable production. It has consistently pursued this path ever since. In addition to APPEEL products, the product portfolio nowadays includes numerous other items made from sustainable materials. The aim is not only to design creative and high-quality products, but also to actively take responsibility for the environment and society.

New Managing Director of Sales in Germany

Sven Weiß joined the German management team on 15 April 2025 as the new additional Managing Director. He explains his motivation: “After meeting Maurizio in Bergamo at the beginning of the year, I was very impressed by his passion for this industry and his vision of successfully guiding these products into the future with consistent investment in digital production technologies. I am looking forward to the exciting adventure of helping to shape this success story in Germany.”

Setting standards in high-quality stationery

Looking to the future, CASTELLI 1938 GmbH wants to continue to set standards for innovations in sustainable stationery and for products that harmoniously combine tradition and modernity. “In the coming months, we will be introducing new, unique products inspired by our rich past and designed to meet the demands of the future. Our standards will always remain high: to combine quality, creativity and environmental awareness. With CASTELLI MILANO 1938, we are setting an example for a sustainable future in high-quality stationery characterised by Italian craftsmanship and a strong awareness of our environment. We look forward to embarking on this new path together with you – full of inspiration, innovation and responsibility,” says Maurizio Castelli.
