With a Heart for People and Animals

Fruit of the Loom demonstrates its local ties and is supporting Kaiserslautern in two ways. The company supported targeted campaigns to raise urgently needed funds for two charities: Caritas-Förderzentrum St. Christophorus for people with disabilities and Tierhilfe Pfalz e.V., an animal rescue association. Demonstrating its commitment to the local community is a priority at the promotional textile producer. It is part of its Threads of Change philosophy and its campaign with the same name. Every year, the company selects special organisations to support with charity campaigns.

Trainees organise a charity sale for the homeless

The trainees at Fruit of Loom independently organised a special sample sale for its staff. They raised 2,039 euros. All the funds raised were donated to the Caritas-Förderzentrum St. Christophorus, a homeless shelter in Kaiserslautern. In addition to the cash donation, warm winter clothing was also donated. The shelter relies on donations to provide people in need with warm meals, hygiene products and other essentials.

Support for homeless animals

As part of another fundraising campaign, Fruit of the Loom employees collected money and material donations for Tierhilfe Pfalz e.V. This association helps animals in need in the Kaiserslautern region, especially cats and dogs. Special insight into the organisation’s volunteer work was given during a visit to a cat shelter run by volunteers. In addition to sheltering animals, the work also includes providing food, water, toys, petting time, and expensive medical treatment. To finance the animal shelter, the organisation runs a flea market shop and a cat hotel.
