The jury of the International Travel Book Award 2026 awarded the Juri City Light Flex globe from TROIKA for its “interactive world exploration”. The expert jury for cartography and globe concluded: “Thanks to the integrated battery, the globe can be placed flexibly and wirelessly. The lighting is fully dimmable and can be switched from warm white light to cool white light depending on the mood. The text is in English

. The depiction of population density is particularly noteworthy: Numerous bright illuminated dots mark the world’s metropolitan areas. They are clearly concentrated along certain coastlines and around large cities – just as one might see our planet at night from outer space. Another impressive detail is the three-dimensional relief of the Earth’s surface: Mountains and mountain ranges are depicted on the globe in relief, making the world’s topography not only visible but tangible, too. TROIKA’s globe light is an aesthetic home decoration item as well as a symbol of the interconnectedness of our world, a vivid reminder that everything on this planet is linked with each other.”

Other ITBA 2026 awards will be announced in November 2026. In the Destinations Award category, the focus is on the countries of Chile, New Zealand and Scotland, as well as the German North Sea coastline and its islands. The International Travel Book Award (ITBA) honours current national and international tourist publications based on its own research. The goal is to raise awareness for the side spectrum in the travel and tourism industry and to broaden our perception of the marvellous planet Earth and its place in the universe through significant works.
