Trade show participants may enter Germany

Trade shows in Germany are characterized by their internationality: according to data collected by the German trade show association AUMA, around 60% of the 180,000 exhibitors each year come from abroad, a third of them from countries outside Europe. Of the 10 million visitors, almost 30% come from abroad. All the more important for the restart of the events is now the clarification on the part of AUMA that the entry of trade show participants from abroad is in principle also possible in times of the Corona pandemic.
There are no travel restrictions for visitors from EU member states and from countries on the positive list. Trade show participants from all other countries can also travel to the trade show, as they are considered business travellers with good cause. Trade show participants from these countries must provide proof of their participation in the trade show when applying for a visa or entering Germany, for example by means of a confirmation from the trade show organizer. For visitors to the trade show, their valied admission ticket to the trade show in conjunction with an appointment for a business meeting with at least one exhibitor at the location of the trade show shall be considered proof. It is important to note that, at present, people entering from a risk area are exempt from the quarantine obligation if they enter with a negative corona test. Before entering the country, trade show participants should always check which quarantine and testing obligations apply in the respective federal state they are entering.
