PSI moves South

Since 1966, Düsseldorf has been the meeting place for the promotional products industry every January as the host city of the PSI trade fair. From next year onwards, however, Europe’s leading trade fair for the promotional products industry will no longer take place in the state capital but in North Rhine-Westphalia’s largest city. From 12–14 January 2027, Halls 7 and 8 at Koelnmesse will become the central marketplace for promotional products, incentives and merchandising, bringing together manufacturers, suppliers and importers with promotional products distributors, agencies, and promotion and marketing specialists.
At its new home, PSI will remain what it has been for decades: large, diverse and centred around the power of tangible advertising.
“Together with Koelnmesse, we are creating the conditions to further strengthen the international profile of the trade fair and provide the industry with a strong platform for the long term. We look forward to working together and continuing PSI’s success story in Cologne,” says Michael Köhler, Managing Director of RX Deutschland GmbH, welcoming the move to Cologne.
An Ideal New Location
The move to Cologne is a logical step that further reinforces PSI’s position.
“PSI is the leading trade fair for the European promotional products industry and the home of tangible advertising. That will not change with the move. Cologne offers a location that perfectly supports this role: excellent transport connections with a high-speed ICE railway station directly at the exhibition grounds, strong links to international air travel via Frankfurt Airport, easy access through Cologne and Düsseldorf airports, and a vibrant local media and creative industry. These are ideal conditions for bringing together our community from across Europe and beyond,” says Petra Lassahn, Director PSI.
“The trade fair is an excellent addition to our venue and fits perfectly with Cologne’s profile as a media, communications and creative hub. We are convinced that PSI will generate new momentum here while benefiting from an inspiring environment,” says Ralf Nüsser, Managing Director of Koelncongress GmbH, looking ahead to PSI in Cologne.
Koelnmesse’s modern, spacious and light-filled Halls 7 and 8 offer a clear layout, short walking distances and ample space for impactful brand presentations. As one of Germany’s leading media and creative centres, Cologne is home to numerous agencies, media companies, and content and entertainment businesses, creating an environment where brand communication and campaign development are part of everyday business—ideal conditions for an industry that places tangible advertising at its core.
As PSI will take place one week later than usual next year, avoiding the Christmas holidays and the public holiday at the beginning of the year, planning will be easier for both exhibitors and trade visitors.
