The writing instruments manufacturer Klio-Eterna celebrated a special anniversary: Michael Gleich was honoured for 40 years of service to the company. On 1 October 1986, he began his career as a process engineer specialising in plastics and rubber technology in the injection moulding department. Today, he is the managing director of the Wolfach-based writing instruments manufacturer.
After completing further training to become an industrial foreman, Gleich took over as head of the injection moulding department. This was followed by a role in production management and later as head of plastics technology. During this time, he also helped design numerous ballpoint pen models. The Qube model is entirely his own creation. He has also developed the new product that Klio-Eterna will be unveiling at the end of the year.
In 2017, Gleich took over as managing director and has been running the company ever since alongside Edeltraud Syllwasschy. His connection to Klio-Eterna goes back even further: his father had already worked for the company. Edeltraud Syllwasschy pays tribute to him for his many years of service: “Michael knows Klio like no one else. Together, we have made difficult decisions and, in challenging times, have always acted in the best interests of the staff and the company. He also played a key role in the introduction of EMAS. He has helped shape the company’s development over decades.” Michael Gleich will continue to contribute his experience as managing director in the years to come. www.klio.com
