Digital Friday places focus on the successful planning of Christmas business
Published on 07.07.2021
What is still the most important time of the business year for the promotional products industry begins in the middle of summer: the year-end business. Because the key festive season is, of course, also a reason to celebrate the promotional product. But peak holiday sales periods require professional preparation and, most importantly, the necessary time to prepare. How to make the Christmas business a success from an advertiser’s perspective will be outlined at the second Digital Friday on 9th July 2021, starting at 9:30. The digital stage will then belong entirely to the best, newest and trendiest products for the Christmas season – tips from the experts included.
“Christmas always arrives so suddenly”
Long-term planning instead of last-minute campaigns. This is the motto of the 60-minute round of talks, during which experienced promotional product suppliers and distributors will discuss current Christmas trends, the Christmas-themed promotional product business, as well as marketing and consulting at the height of summer. Stefan Eiche (Head of Marketing & Sales, Kalfany Süße Werbung GmbH & Co. KG), Uwe Thielsch (Sales Director, koziol »ideas for friends GmbH), Simon Speelman (Managing Director, Blooms out of the box vof), Olaf Fischer (Managing Director, Zara Vertrieb GmbH) and Christian Höfling (Managing Director, werbemax GmbH) will talk about their top-selling products, individual customer wishes, the potential offered by Christmas items, as well as opportunities and pitfalls. So that companies don’t need to come to the realisation that “Christmas always arrives so suddenly”, the promotional product experts already steer their attention towards the year-end and explain why having sufficient foresight literally pays off.
Christmas with a personal touch
Rüdiger Maaß, Managing Director of f:mp. Fachverband Medienproduktion e.V., is well aware of the power of customisation and why personalised gifts at the end of the year spread extra joy. He forges an interesting and informative bridge from “value added printing” via “emotional print” to the vast range of different customisation options and possibilities.
Value limits and tax treatment
Trends, creative ideas, customised eye-catchers. “Giving gifts is a pleasure, but the pleasure stops at 35 euro”. Or not? Can this fixed limit be stretched? What is decisive: the purchase or manufacturing costs? Are freight costs and value added tax included? Can consulting services be calculated separately? In a half-hour presentation, the tax advisor Jutta Liess from the Liess law firm gets to the bottom of these and other questions and addresses value limits and the tax treatment of Christmas gifts in the process.
