Pure Waste wins renowned Green Product Award
Published on 06.05.2024
Finnish textile company Pure Waste Textiles Oy has won this year’s Green Product Award Fashion 24 with its synonymous brand Pure Waste. The winning products and collections of Green Product Award Fashion were distinguished in the subcategories Clothing, Accessories and Shoes in the context of this year’s Neonyt trade show in Düsseldorf, with the trophy in the Clothing category going to Pure Waste. The international jury selected the winners from among thirty nominated brands and manufacturers from twenty countries. All entries stood out through the use of new materials and techniques for fashion that is more sustainable.
The Green Product Award Fashion jury writes the following in justification of the award to Pure Waste: “The entire product range consists of 100 percent recycled fibres – a supreme example of the circular economy. Timeless design and high wearing comfort, combined with fair market prices, are indicators of a promising future ahead.”
Karsten Bleymehl, sales director of the brand Pure Waste in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, describes the textile manufacturer’s concept: “We produce clothing with a minimum ecological footprint, made exclusively out of 100 percent recycled fibres. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in our focus on classic design and uncompromising quality. These timeless clothing items reduce environmental pollution, since they save 99 percent water and emit 50 percent less CO2 than comparable clothing items made out of new materials. Our innovative approach involves mechanically recycling textile waste, reducing environmental impacts and setting new benchmarks for sustainable fashion.”
Since early this year, Pure Waste is represented in the supply range of textile wholesaler Cotton Classics with thirteen products made out of recycled materials. The range encompasses basics such as t-shirts, polos, longsleeves, sweaters, hoodies, a cap and a tote bag. Following successful collection presentations at this year’s specialist trade show PSI in Düsseldorf and at the international Cotton Classics Roadshow, Pure Waste is set to introduce its products at the Stuttgart TecStyle Visions trade show for the first time in February 2025. On the textile printing and embroidery market, the range is meeting with enormous interest among companies that insist on sustainable textile solutions.
